Beach Babe

Put together using the ‘Moms for Mam’ kit from Gauche Alchemy – I love their stuff (see the blinkie in the left hand sidebar.  I also used a few other bit and bobs.

The reason I love their kits so much is that as well as including ‘standard’ scrapbooking/craft products, they also use other things, such as the dress making pattern paper & pink tulle I used in this layout.

Photo was taken using the soft focus mode on my hubby’s SLR many years ago, which give it that lovely effect.  Photo taken during a holiday to Kos, Greece.

Scrap Tiffany Sketch

What do you think of this sketch.  I plan to use it scrap some photographs I have just had printed recently.  The sketch is from the Scrap Tiffany blog, which is a fantastic site which provides a new sketch for you to scrap every Monday.

I love using sketches as it kick-starts your creativity and they can either be followed exactly or just used as a starting point.

Please come back to see what I make/how I interpret this sketch.

At the Airport Concorde Style

I remember this photo being taken, it was a big deal to see Concorde then (1983) and its shape was quite unique too.

You used to be able to go up on the roof at Newcastle Airport at that time and watch all of the planes taking off and landing and experience the noise, it was great.   So this photograph brings back so many memories.

Instead of relying on ready made alphas I wanted to create my own, so I picked a font in word and printed it out on suitable A4 paper.  I then cut them out and outlined each letter with a fineliner pen.  I also used the fineliner pen to draw several wavy lines around the edge of the base paper.

Hope you like it.

Jacob – Where did you get that hat?

Yet another layout about my grandson.  I bought him this plain white cap to wear which made him look even more ‘cheeky’ than normal.

I was aiming for the shaped paper and the lace paper to point towards and draw the eye towards the photograph.

The base patterned paper is by Basic Grey and the shaped paper is Making Memories.

Hope you like it.

Yellow Sparkly Card

This is one in a series of cards I made one afternoon.  I just seemed to have a spate on and made about 10 cards.  Anyway, I rounded the some of the corners of the base card, glitter & holographic mirror card.

The picture is one froma sheet of images by Kanban I think.  I just kept it simple by adding a little glitter.  To finish it off  I added felt flowers and a peel off sentiment.

It’s a pretty simple card but I like it and havn’t given it to anyone yet.

Hope you like it.

Fireman Card

This is a card I made for my great-nephew for his birthday.  I love the Jolly Nation charachters as they are so much fun.

I know fireman have yellow/gold uniforms now but I coloured him in how I remember  a fireman looked like.

Sitting on the dock of the Bay

I have always loved this photograph, I think my son looks so cool and laid back.

With the exception of the silver card I used for the porthole effect everything else is from a boxed kit I got from QVC by DCVW (I think).

This layout seemed to come together really easily and fairly quickly and I still love it.  The starfish behind the photograph pulls out to reveal jornaling.

Hope you like it.
