Birthday Card by Grace

This is the birthday card that my mother made for my son Jason.

I love the silver and blue combination.

Lovely card Grace, very sparkly.

Hope you like it

Boys Rule Scrapbook Layout

I have had these photos for a while and have wanted to scrap them but never found the right paper.  I bought these squares of  Cosmo Cricket cardstock as part of a pack which had been cut up and put together as a mix and match bag.

I just seemed to throw this layout together (I didn’t use a sketch) and it didnt take me long at all.

Besides the Cosmo Cricket papers I also used:

  • 12×12 Plain Papermania cardstock
  • Patterned paper (dots) not sure which brand, sorry.
  • American Craft felt photo corners
  • Felt dragonflies (unsure of brand)
  • Creative Imaginations tags
  • Ribbon (bloom)
  • Fishy brads (part of a mixed bag)
  • Papermania brads (green)
  • Papermania stamps (ant and flying bug)

I drew around BoBunny letters for the title.  The red tags secured by the green brads came from a box holding a toy bus, these secured the bus to the box along with wire tags.

Hope you like it.

Pool Boy

Some more great pics of my son that I couldn’t resist scrapping.  This was one of my early’ish attempts at scrapbooking so I didnt note down who made the papers, etc. (but I could find out if anyone needs me to)

I was trying to recreate a summer/beach/outdoorsy theme, which I hope I achieved.  I added little blue gems on the layout to represent water splashes and added fish brads and stickers to make it fun.

Hope you like it

Birthday Boy

The picture is of my son and his girlfriend (now fiance) on his 21st birthday when we visited our local pizza place.

The shaped paper and acetate overlay (around photograph) are by Brenda Pinnick.  I also used core’dinations cardstock (yellow) and Bazzill bling (blue) cardstock and a little bit of glittered cardstock for matting onto. xxx

I used sketch #105 to put this layout together from Creative Scrappers.

Here are some close ups on the details.

Hope you like it.

All Boy

Another layout put together using the kit I got from Indigo Mill, the same kit I used for my Glammed Up layout.

The only thing on this layout that wasn’t from the kit is the doillie.  The picture is of my son which was taken in Hexham.

We had been out for the day and my son chose to have his face painted as a pirate.

I love the photograph and had to scrap it when I found this pirate themed paper. I also found a pack of skull and cross bones stickers, which magicically had 36 stickers in it for the 36 scallops.

I also used strips for paper from Bo Bunny, I think.  When I put this layout together I hadn’t yet started taking notices of the different brands and manufacturers (which soon changed).  I cannot for the life of me think where I got the skull badge from.

Hope you like it.

Summer Days

Put together using May 9th Sketch Sunday sketch as inspiration (below) from Scrap Tiffany.

I set myself the challenge of using embossing and recycling for this layout.

Photos are from various holidays – 3 abroad and on in the UK.

I used:

Shaped paper is by Bo Bunny
Pearlescent Card – embossing using Cuttlebug swirls folder
Maya Road Tags Mini
Papermania Chipboards Shapes – Frames and Flourishes
Thickers Alphas – Puffy – Chit Chat
Scalloped strips are from the bottom of a peice of Sassafrass Lass paper (cannot remember which one)

The two piece of papers to the right of the shaped paper come from:

Packaging from a childs toy
Packaging from behind Tim Holtz Mini Masks.

Hope you like it.

This is a fab picture of my son, who as a baby and young child was always smiling.  For this layout I used 3 different papers by K&Co (not sure which range as I bought a huge stack as a QVC TSV).

I matted the photograph and inked around the edge in green. On the base paper I used glossy accents on the little mushrooms with red tops and yellow spots.

I cut a wavy/uneven strip of another paper and rolled the edges up a little, I used the right hand side to journal on.  From the final paper I cut the 2 butterflies and the leaves which adorn the side of my photograph.

The letters I used are another QVC buy, but I really like them as they have a word written on each letter which adds to the layout.

Hope you like it.

Sitting on the dock of the Bay

I have always loved this photograph, I think my son looks so cool and laid back.

With the exception of the silver card I used for the porthole effect everything else is from a boxed kit I got from QVC by DCVW (I think).

This layout seemed to come together really easily and fairly quickly and I still love it.  The starfish behind the photograph pulls out to reveal jornaling.

Hope you like it.

21st Birthday Card

This is the card I made for my sons 21st birthday.  I duplicated a design I saw in Creative Cardmaking.

I used papers that come free with a magazine although I cannot remember which one (as I seem to buy so many).  I wanted to keep it pretty simple colour-wise and boys/men don’t seem to like fussy cards.

I am quite pleased with the result and the folding and cutting to get the effect was really easy.

Hope you like it.
